I had never thought that I would experience an active volcano, and see how the lava flows down the side of the volcano, how the volcano erupts every few minutes, and the amazing sunrise that appeared behind it. It was one of the craziest experiences I have ever had, and will be for a long time. However what is happening at the moment, is absolutely spectacular to witness in person.
To be honest, had the volcano not been active, it would never have made it onto the list. In this post I will list some of my favorite places in all of Iceland. We experienced the highlands, the South, East, North and West. A jungle reserve deep in Southern Thailand, Khao Sok National Park is said to be the oldest evergreen rainforest in the world, with some sources claiming it offers comparable biodiversity to the Amazon rainforest and you can visit with Culture Trip as part of our 10-day small-group Southern Thailand trip. On my last visit myself and one of my good friends journeyed around the entire country for 9 days in a campervan. Iceland has everything in store to become a lifelong memory. This area is simply stunning The picturesque village of Vik and the nearby Reynisfjara beach and the impressive coastline are well worth it in any season. Waterfalls, valleys, active volcanoes, black sand beaches filled with icebergs and mountains. Iceland’s South Coast is one of the most visited areas in the country and rightly so.
